How to Register!

High School Courses!

High School Courses!

High School Courses!

For High-School Courses, there are no placement tests. Parents should sit down with their child and determine which courses meet their long-term and short-term goals. Some parents prefer to take courses coinciding with the courses their child is currently in in their day school. Others prefer to take courses approximately one semester in advance. In addition, we offer other long-term courses such as College and Career preparation that may want to be considered well in advance. All in all, the most important thing is to review the curriculum list for each course carefully before enrolling and paying. After determining which course is best for your child, please refer to the Steps listed below and follow Steps 4, 5, and 6.

Grade 1 & 2

High School Courses!

High School Courses!

For Grades 1-2, no placement tests are necessary. We recommend that you carefully review the curriculum for the curriculum associated with the course matching your child’s grade to make sure this course meets the needs of your child. Parents of second grade students should also review the Level 1 curriculum list to make sure all of those topics have already been adequately covered with your child before joining our program. Students should know at least 85% of the prerequisite knowledge before joining any given level. Keep in mind that our courses tend to run 1-2 grades higher than the equivalent grade in school. After determining which course is best for your child, please refer to the Steps listed below and follow Steps 4, 5, and 6.

Grade 3 - 7

The Steps to Join the Curie Program for Grades 3-7.

Thank you for your interest in Curie Learning!

  • Our program provides various advanced courses which can help students achieve their academic goals. Our courses are separated on a Level basis (not by grade) because our curriculum tends to run 1-2 grades higher than the equivalent grade in school. For example, Level 5 would be learning 6th and even some 7th grade material. It is for this reason that we require all new students from grades 3-7 to take a placement test. They help us to determine where in our curriculum is the best place for your child based on the skills they demonstrate in the tests. The Placement tests and all steps to join the program are below for you. We recommend reading this full page before proceeding with any of these steps:

Steps to Join the Program:

It's recommended for New students (3-6 Grade) who are registering from November to register for the February Math Accelerated & English Condensed.

Step 1: Take the Math and/or English Placement Tests. These tests are completely free. Please note that the full program for our level courses includes both Math and English. Only taking one of these subjects may result in limited enrollment options for your child. If you would like to take the tests online, you can find the links to take them here. (No signup necessary!! Simply click the link provided)If you would like to take the tests during one of our In-person Placement Test Events, please check this sign up genius to check for any upcoming scheduled events.

Disclaimers:

  • Do not take the same test more than once.
  • Do not take more than one “level” of tests without first consulting with one of our staff members. Read the score breakdowns at the end of the test carefully.
  • No calculators are permitted on any math test.

PLACEMENT TESTS

Rising Grade 3 English TEST

Step 2: Review the scores. For Levels 3-6, after each test is completed, the score will pop up automatically at the end of the test. We recommend that a parent is near your child when the scores are shown to take note of them, but in case you click away and lose the score, our staff can retrieve those scores for you upon request. For our Level 7 Signature Program, scores must be requested by emailing our admin staff members at curielearning@gmail.com or by calling/texting (703) 798-6808. We will provide you the scores and the recommendation based on the score during this interaction.

_________________________________________________________________

Step 3: Review the scores and recommendations. The test will also show our recommendation for what Level to enroll your child for based on the score (see step 2)

A note about our recommendation: it is only a recommendation. We encourage parents and students to sit down together to figure out which level is the best one to suit their needs and goals. Please take into account the scores and recommendations, what you know about the personality of your child as a student, as well as our curriculum lists in your decision making-process. You can find all of our curriculum lists here. Remember that it is possible to split your child between two levels dependent on the needs for each subject. For example, Level 5 Math and Level 4 English.

Step 4: Fill out the enrollment form for your recommended level here.

You can find the fee structure and timings for each level at 2024-2025 Academic Year Schedule. Please download the pdf by selecting "Click Here for Registration Link and Schedule Details” to gain access to links such as the enrollment form.

Step 5: Complete your registration by making full payment for the semester.

Both the enrollment form and the full payment must be received in order for your child to be officially assigned to a class section. Enrollment forms alone do not reserve your child’s spot in a class section. Once the payment is made, your child will be officially placed in a section based on your top three selections from the enrollment form and our availability.
